Lungefeeding Whales!

On a stunning fall day in the channel, our crew and passengers were met with calm seas and sunny skies. As we bounced around the channel, common dolphins and humpback whales were in no short supply. We first watched a single, and then a pair of small juveniles. Soon, a large adult made itself known as it kelped in a dense paddy nearby. A bit to the east, we found a nice lunge-feeding whale! (See today's photo). This whale gave us some great vertical lunges as it gorged on anchovies. With more whales in the area, we got close looks at 8 whales before passing another two or three on the way home.

Until Next Time,

The SBWW Crew
