Conditions have been extremely tough this year but we're thankful to have lots of whales close to shore!
We closely watched 5 whales as they fed in the channel. Thousands of dolphins and sea lions corralled the anchovies to the surface just in time for the whales to take advantage. One of the whales in particular was displaying these nice big vertical lunges stunning our crew and passengers. This whale took a quick kelp break and wrestled with the giant pieces of algae for some time, allowing Captain Adam to get some awesome photos! Just another remarkable day in the Santa Barbara Channel showing our guests the diverse marine life.
