Some decent 4-foot swells rolled through the channel today. This didn't stop us from finding a whole bunch of marine life!
Dolphins were quite literally everywhere. From about a mile out of the harbor to 20 miles west, we spent the entire day with huge groups of common dolphins. They were actively feeding and leaping from the sea with plenty of calves in tow. The sheer number of dolphins was astounding and always a highlight of our trip.
Pushing west past coal oil point we ran into the trips humpback whales. 4 in the area with a few more spouts on the horizon, these giants were feeding on giant bait balls of anchovies. They put up their mighty tails as they dove deeper into the channel to feast. It was an awesome day in our stunning backyard.
Until Next Time,
The SBWW Crew
