Why choose us? Santa Barbara Whale Watch is the newest whale-watching company departing from Santa Barbara Harbor. Our goal for each and every trip is to create beautiful connections between our guests and the wonderful marine life we're fortunate to spend time with. With years of experience exploring the Santa Barbara Channel, our crew has devoted their lives to responsible ecotourism.

FAQ

What Should I wear?

Dress WARM! Even in the summer, temperatures on the water are at least 15 degrees colder than on land. Definitely wear long pants, close toed shoes, layers, a wind/ water resistant jacket.

Why choose SBWW?

We are the only smaller passenger whale watch company that departs from Santa Barbara! We offer very unique tours that are found nowhere else in the channel. Our intimate tours are the best way to connect with the channel's wildlife.

How many people are on board?

Our boat takes 6 passengers (maximum) per trip.

What if we don't see anything?

Life at sea can be very unpredictable, somedays are much quieter than others. There are no guarantees on the ocean, but our experienced crew is the best in the biz at finding wildlife. If it's out there, we will find it!

Will I get wet?

Sometimes the waves hit us just right and create a bit of spray! While a relatively dry ride, be sure to bring some warm water-resistant clothes just in case.

Is there a bathroom on board?

Yes! We have a full restroom onboard, complete with a marine head and sink. Perfect for longer days at sea!

Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?

Yes, since our boat only carries 6 passengers, spots can fill up quickly. Click the book online section of our website to book your spot today!

When Should I Arrive?

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled trip departure.

We depart from the SB Sailing center in the Santa Barbara Harbor.

When is the best time of year to book?

We are lucky to see whales year-round! That being said spring-fall is our peak season.

How often do you run?

We run 5 days a week weather permitting!

What Should I Bring?

Be sure to bring warm clothes, sun protection (sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat), a camera, and a smile ready for adventure! Also smart to pack water and a light lunch or snack!

What is the cancellation policy?

We require a cancelation 24 hours prior to the departure of the trip. If your cancelation is within 24 hours of the trip's departure, we cannot offer a refund but can move your reservation to a different date.
